Show Me the Mariner Halfwood Press

Half wood, half steel, all real

Mariner No. 6 is on the bench! The new offering is the Mariner Rack-Driven model with synchronous pressure screws. Number six is the premier model of this new design. The design is the same as the Galleon, except the Mariner has the wider bed and larger rollers. Read more about the Mariner in the section below, but keep in mind this Web page is under construction. Number 6 is offered for $3,500, fob Seattle, plus crating and shipping for people out of the area. For more information, email ritchie@halfwoodpress.com

The largest of the current line of Halfwood Presses, with a 12-inch wide bed to make it easy to print a plate with a 10-inch dimension on its narrow side, and up to 30 inches in length. The rollers are 3 inch diameter, top and bottom. Inside the handsome polished wood and steel frame is a rack-drive system so you get a mechanical advantage of 8:1, making it easy to turn the wheel of the press.

The entire press weighs just over 100 pounds. it can be bolted to a low countertop or rolling work station for stability. As with the other Halfwood Presses, you get the felts you need to start printing right away, plus a user's manual and online support.

This Web page is new and under construction. For more details and images, go to the old page at http://www.emeralda.com/pp/ppprod/equip/etchingpress/mariner/index_mariner.htm. Please be patient, as the new model of the Mariner is still being photographed and uploaded.
