Artist's comment: As I traced the black splotches and squiggles, I had to rotate the page sometimes to fit them on my tracing. This made me realize the difference between fixed space and free space. Painting and drawing occupy fixed space; when we use media art, we move into free space, liberated, as it were, from the Cartesian, flat world grid. In free space our mind can navigate, rearranging, and re-calculating as we go, as we need to. My small suite of drawings help me learn more about media arts in a complementary way.
